Lindsey Ross, M.D., MSHS is an Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery, fellowship trained Spine Surgeon and health delivery scientist. Throughout her career, she has been steadily dedicated to serving under-resourced populations, mentoring minority students, and delivering health services research and policy changes to address the needs of under resourced communities.

In 2016, she was tapped to serve as a White House Fellow for the Obama Administration. In this position she served as a Science and Health Policy Counselor for the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services. During medical school, she was selected as a Denzel and Pauletta Washington Gifted Scholar in Neurosciences. Lindsey has enjoyed serving as a clinical leader for the Cedars-Sinai Health Equity Council and Chair of the Diversity and Inclusion for the Graduate Medical Education committee.

Dr. Ross has received NIH funding to study virtual reality and health technology platforms to treat chronic low back pain and special funding to better understand the digital divide and the influence of race and ethnicity on recruitment and retention in randomized clinical trials. She also has received NIH funding for clinical research to study racial and ethnic inequities in acute stroke management.

Dr. Lindsey Ross, has led innovative efforts to improve Black and Hispanic patient representation in research studies. This recognition is especially meaningful, as it showcases how Dr. Ross worked to develop methods to overcome recruitment barriers by tailoring strategies for underserved populations. This work is a significant contribution to advancing DEI in research, particularly in digital health where inequities are often expanded.

For her work she has been awarded nationally with the Top 40 under 40 in Minority Health Award by Congressional Black Caucus and the Top 20 under 40 in Spine by North American Spine Society (NASS). She has received physician recognition awards from Cedars-Sinai and Torrance Memorial Health Systems. Dr. Ross received a B.S. in Biological Sciences from Stanford University, a M.D. from David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and a Master’s of Science in Health Systems.
